Where do you go to seek investment and financing for the best products, technologies and services that Maine businesses and entrepreneurs have to offer? The television show “Shark Tank” pits budding entrepreneurs against ruthless, billionaire tycoons for the chance to bankroll their dreams.  But, there is a gentler, more constructive route available.

This forum is focused on Maine’s business-friendly finance guidance and resources for start-ups, established companies and entrepreneurs.   The following panelists will tell cleantech, environmental, professional service, manufacturing, and energy sector representatives and entrepreneurs about the opportunities available in the State:

- John Voltz, Executive Director, Blackstone Accelerates Growth

John Voltz' Presentation Slides

- Bob Martin, President of the Maine Technology Institute (MTI)

Bob Martin's Presentation Slides

- Mike Finnegan, Senior Vice President of Lending at Coastal Enterprises, Inc.

After the panel, experts will lead dynamic breakout sessions on the following topics to dive deeper into critical financial resources and business information:

Financial Resources: Talk to experts from MTI, CEI, the City of Portland's Economic Development team, and other resources from throughout New England for information about available resources to help identify financial programs, packages, and incentives for energy, environmental, and other project assistance and business development options.

Financial Business Information: This session will provide expert guidance and coaching on business development issues critical to entrepreneurs and start-ups, including legal requirements and filings, tax and accounting considerations, and other key advice from the Maine Dept. of Economic & Community Development, Maine accounting, law firms and lending institutions, and start-up and incubator resources.

SPECIAL MEETING
