About the event

Please join the ClimateTech Incubator at Northeastern University's Roux Institute and E2Tech for our first event in an ongoing speaker series collaboration. This event is hosted as a lunch and learn - bring your own lunch and learn about AI and the energy transition. There is a virtual option, but if you join in person at the Roux Institute, there will be refreshing beverages and a sweet dessert treat for attendees.

This talk will cover a high-level overview of the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in accelerating the energy transition. It will begin with a brief historical perspective on AI, highlighting recent trends and advances. Next, the presentation will touch on the current energy landscape, outlining the urgent need for a shift towards a cleaner and more sustainable energy supply. Then the talk will outline a few examples of how AI is revolutionizing various sectors of the energy industry, including renewables, energy efficiency, and carbon management. The talk will conclude with a brief treatment of future opportunities and challenges, followed by an open discussion on the same.

Dr. Wallace has over 25 years of energy and AI/ML experience, including engineering, teaching, research, inventions, investments, and executive positions. He is an entrepreneur in Residence at the ClimateTech Incubator at Northeastern's Roux Institute where he is also working on launching a new company, Flight Sage. His experience spans several energy transition areas including renewables, such as geothermal heating & power, carbon capture and sequestration, and AI/ML.
