Maine Technology Institute
MTI works with entrepreneurs, innovators, established businesses, and institutions conducting research and development (R&D) to help them fund and grow their big ideas, connect to resources across the state, and create results for Maine. MTI programs help innovators accelerate progress to the market, leverage additional private and public investment, and ultimately, expand their economic impact in Maine.
Examples of MTI Successes
Are you looking for funding to support an innovative product, idea, or process?
Are you seeking support and guidance for an SBIR/STTR federal funding application?
Are you an entrepreneur that needs help securing consulting or technical assistance?
If your answer to any of the above is yes, the MTI may be able to help. Maine needs successful companies to have a vibrant economy, and the MTI has seven sectors targeted for support - more than $40M of direct support to firms in 2019-2023. The seven include mature industries (like forestry and agriculture) as well as emerging ones (such as composites and aquaculture). Environment and energy is part of the mix.
Since MTI began operations in 2000, it has helped develop strong clusters within those sectors to stimulate business investment in technology development. For more than a decade E2Tech has worked with the MTI to promote actions and efforts that will grow and strengthen R&D and innovation, expand the workforce, create new firms; and build networks and alliances for financing and product development.
Below are links to firms and products that have links to environment and energy and grew as a result of financial support from the MTI.
