Orion Breen
Executive Director
Orion joined E2Tech as the Executive Director in November 2025, but has been an admirer of the organization and its programming for many years. He is a compassionate 21st century communicator and community organizer with a proven track record in bringing people together from diverse backgrounds and perspectives to improve the quality of life in their Maine communities.
Orion has long been a champion for Maine businesses—he founded the Buy Local Bangor campaign, was recognized as South Portland's Business Leader of the Year, has traveled the state promoting workplace safety for MEMIC (Maine's leading workers' compensation insurer) and has run his own communications & community relations consulting business.

Orion graduated with a degree in Cinema-Television Production from the University of Southern California and has created multiple podcast and video series interviewing leaders in the energy, transportation, housing, nonprofit and political spheres. Orion is a housing advocate who holistically connects energy, environment and climate with land use, transportation, affordability and social justice—he created the Yes To Housing podcast & resource center and as president of the South Portland-Cape Elizabeth Community Chamber of Commerce he organized community listening sessions on housing.
Orion led Hour Exchange Portland (HEP), a nonprofit volunteer organization of neighbors helping neighbors, in implementing a new leadership structure to reward and empower members, cultivating and training volunteer member leaders to take on the day-to-day operations of running HEP. During Orion's time at HEP, they received national press coverage as a solution that should be replicated across the country as part of America’s economic turnaround—including coverage in Newsweek, The Huffington Post, NPR, CBS Early Morning Show, NBC Nightly News, The Colbert Report and the PBS documentary special “Fixing the Future.”
Orion organized philanthropic giving and community engagement in Maine, Vermont and other areas of New England for the Global Partners energy company and volunteers his service on numerous nonprofit boards and committees like the Maine Volunteer Foundation and the United Way of Southern Maine’s Thrive2027 initiative.
Orion is a servant leader who believes in the power of the active listening techniques he utilized in the development of the Sidekicks youth tobacco peer support program at LincolnHealth—which says spend at least 80% of your time listening to only 20% of your time talking. Orion wants to hear from you, our members, about your needs, challenges and ideas on how E2Tech can better serve you and our community.
