Free Maine Clean Energy Week Panels 9/17

Panels go from 9am-4pm on September 17 at USM's Hannaford Hall at 88 Bedford Street in Portland. E2Tech's Summer Social is 4:30-7pm at Bunker Brewing Co. and is separate registration from the MCEW panels.

9:00 AM Building an Affordable, Resilient Maine (register here). Maine is at the center of a clean energy construction surge unlike anything the state has seen. From the heat pumps going into tens of thousands of homes to the 400 megawatts of battery storage racing to connect to the grid, the decisions being made right now will shape the state's energy system for decades.

10:15 AM Wind, Water and Where Maine Can Lead (register here). Maine's resources of wind, water and wood have been powering Maine's economy for centuries. What are the opportunities and challenges of unlocking the economic potential of clean energy innovation with wind power, hydropower, biofuels and more.

11:30 AM Maine's Energy Future: A Candidate Forum (register here). Before voting begins, candidates funning for office this year have been invited to share where they stand on energy cost and Maine's resilient energy future. Every voice is welcomes, every seat open.

1:15 PM Maine's Energy Infrastructure Moment (register here). Maine sits at the center of a wave of transmission projects connecting the state to the rest of New England. These decisions will reshape the regional grid for a generation and bring real opportunity to Maine. Better interconnection is key to bringing on affordable, clean energy and growing the state's economy.

3:00 PM Building Maine's Clean Energy Workforce (register here). Maine's clean energy future needs tens of thousands of skilled workers to build it. The union leaders, educators and employers growing that workforce close out the day with a conversation about training, apprenticeships and what opportunity looks like.
